Fly Fishing School

Fly Fishing for Trout

West Virginia's rivers offer some of the best trout fishing in the east. The New and Gauley Rivers along with their tributaries are home to an abundance of both stocked and wild trout. West Virginia has one of the largest trout stocking programs in the US- releasing trout in over 150 different waters. Additionally, many of the catch and release streams are located within our local area. Walk and wade trips are customized to work with each clients time schedule, experience level, and physical capabilities.

Smallmouth, Walleye, & Musky Float Trips

PRO offers a variety of raft supported float fishing trips on the rivers and streams in West Virginia. Most people think trout when they think about fly fishing, but landing any species of fish on a fly rod is amazing. Fishing from a high back padded seat in a fully outfitted raft and hooking a citation Smallmouth is a real treat and not soon forgotten. The Ancient New River and the Greenbrier River have amazing small mouth opportunities in spectacular settings. The Gauley River is a bit more adventurous and has a mixture of Smallmouth, Trout, Walleye, and Musky. The New River is recognized as the “second oldest river in the world” and is estimated to be over twenty five million years old. This magnificent canyon is characterized by huge sandstone boulders, long deep pools, numerous rocky runs, and plentiful forage. West Virginia’s New River has all the ingredients to be ranked as one of the best rivers in the country for producing citation Smallmouth Bass. The tributaries of the New river have an abundant population of both wild and stocked trout. In the spring and fall these streams explode with hatches and the trout feed aggressively.

Our West Virginia fishing trips are run on 50+ miles in The New River National River Park. We offer spring float trips on the lower portions of the Greenbrier River and more adventurous trips on the Gauley River when the conditions are perfect. We cater to both spin and fly fishermen and run guided trips from March through November. All of our guided fishing tours are fully outfitted in self bailing Aire™ rafts with custom aluminum frames and padded high back swivel seats.
